A book is a collaboration between the one who reads and what is read and, at its best, that coming together is a love story like any other.

About This Quote

There are two ways to go about reading a book. The first is to read it alone, or to read it with someone else. You can’t really know what the book is about until you have read it because you can’t look at the book itself and say whether it is any good. So the only way you really know if it is any good is by reading it.

If you enjoy reading then that’s all that matters because that will tell you whether or not to read the book again. However, even if you don’t enjoy reading, but still want to read the book, then there are other things you can do. For example, if the person who wrote the book has written another book which you like, then you can go out and buy both of their books.

If they write another book after that, then maybe you should buy that one as well because there may be something in it which will make your enjoyment of this book greater or different than before.
